ACNE is a skin disease that can ruin your self-confidence

Acne can be regarded as one of the most widespread skin diseases that about 75% of people suffer from. The symptoms of acne include oily skin, comedones and inflamed papules, which may even leave scars in the most severe cases. However, the good news is that you don’t have to put up with acne forever!

Of course, you should pay attention to acne immediately as soon as the first areas of inflammation appear, since if you don’t treat acne, pimples may remain on the skin for years. The areas where inflammation occurs most frequently are the ones where fat glands are located, i.e. most often inflamed papules appear on face, bosom, or back. And still the areas may differ, depending on age. For example, teenagers most often have acne on the forehead, cheeks, and nose. And on the other hand, adults tend to have acne in the lower part of their faces, i.e. on the jaw and jaw line.

What is the reason for acne?

Acne is mostly caused by hormonal disorders. Male sex hormones, which are produced in
adolescence and also at a later stage in life and stimulate the functioning of fat glands, play
their part as well.
Unfortunately, genes may also cause this disease. In addition to that, the reasons for acne can
also be psychological. Research has shown that a higher level of stress is often accompanied
by the exacerbation of acne.
By the way, healthy food promotes beautiful face skin. For example, scientists have
established that there is connection between food with high glycemic index (white bread,
potatoes, rice) and cow milk.

Treatment of acne

Serious acne is usually inflammatory, but there are several non-inflammatory forms as well. Quite often the disease disappears or alleviates with time without any intervention, but in case of serious inflammations, special treatment is required prescribed by a skin doctor, and the real rescue in this situation is the IPL treatment procedure that is highly valued all over the world, which is also offered in Estonia at Lasermed beauty clinic.

In case of acne, it is very important to provide appropriate skin care and superficial treatment. At Lasermed, there is a Lumenis M22 IPL Optimal Pulse Technology (OPT) laser which makes sure the appropriate care is applied to your skin, and the desired result is achieved.

The laser can be applied to the problematic area specifically, without damaging healthy skin. The Lumenis M22 IPL technology uses a laser beam with a specific wavelength, which penetrates the skin layer that holds fat glands, raises the temperature of tissues, and destroys bacteria that causes inflammation as well as reduces sebum generation.

The treatment with the Lumenis M22 IPL laser considerably improves the appearance of skin, alleviates inflammable processes, reducing acne, redness of skin, and removing post- acne pigment spots. In addition to that, IPL stimulates collagen synthesis in skin, owing to which the skin becomes tighter and more elastic.
